Andrea Dennis is the orchestra director at Rugby Middle School. Mrs. Dennis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Appalachian State University and is National Board Certified.
She serves as the director of the Western North Carolina Music Academy's Sonata String Ensemble as well as the Asheville Symphony Youth Orchestra's Chamber Orchestra. Mrs. Dennis conducted the Hendersonville Symphony Prelude and Sinfonietta Youth String Orchestras for many years and has served as a clinician at a variety of summer camps and the Berrian Orchestra Festivals. She resides in Hendersonville, NC with her husband Derek and daughter, Violet. |
Tiffany King is the orchestra and chorus director at West Henderson High School. Mrs. King's orchestra students have consistently received ratings of Excellent and Superior at Carowinds Festivals and State Adjudications. In the fall of 2018, the orchestra performed at the North Carolina Music Education Association Conference in front of music teachers from across the state. Her chorus students have participated in All-County Honors Chorus, Mars Hill Choral Festival, and have sung at community events.
Mrs. King received her Bachelor's in Music Education from UNC-Greensboro. While attending UNCG, she performed in with the Gate City Camerata and Salisbury Symphony and performed in local musical pit orchestras.After moving to Hendersonville, Mrs. King assisted with sectionals for the strings programs and the Hendersonville Symphony Youth Orchestras (HSYO). After becoming orchestra director at West Henderson, she served as the Assistant Director of HSYO for 2 years and was director of the Hendersonville Symphony's Summer Music Camp for 5 years. Mrs. King has performed with the Hendersonville Symphony and Brevard Philharmonic. She is the musical director for West Henderson's spring musicals. Mrs. King currently lives in Hendersonville with her husband, Matthew, and her daughter, Claire, who just started ukulele lessons, and their two cats, Moldy and Miles. |
Jennie Quinn is the orchestra director at Flat Rock Middle and East Henderson High Schools. She holds a Bachelor's of Music Education degree from Eastern Michigan University and a Master's of Executive School Leadership from Gardner-Webb University.
Prior to teaching in Henderson County Public Schools, Mrs. Quinn served as orchestra director for Shelby Intermediate and Shelby Middle Schools for 12 years. In her time teaching in North Carolina, Mrs. Quinn has served as Chair of the Junior Western Regional Orchestra Auditions, Co-Chair of the Western Regional Music Performance Adjudication, and Western Regional Orchestra Chair. She also founded the Shelby Fiddlin’ Devils, an extracurricular group that performed different styles of fiddle music. She currently lives in Hendersonville, North Carolina with her husband, Chris and sons, Wilson and Carter. |
Amanda Tant is the orchestra and chorus director at Hendersonville Middle and Hendersonville High Schools. Ms. Tant's students regularly participate in large ensemble MPA, Junior and Senior Western Regional Orchestras, All-State Honors Orchestra, Henderson County Honors Chorus, and the Mars Hill University Choral Festival.
Ms. Tant also serves as the musical director in the long-standing Hendersonville High School Senior Play, coaching vocals and conducting the pit orchestra of a full-length Broadway musical every spring. Since 2016, Ms. Tant has conducted the Prelude Orchestra of the Asheville Symphony Youth Orchestras. In 2017, ASYO collaborated with violinist, Midori in a week-long residency with music students from the Asheville/Buncombe community. Ms. Tant has had the pleasure of serving as the festival clinician for the 2018 Buncombe All-County Middle School Orchestra and 2016 Middle School Berrian Orchestra Festival. Ms. Tant holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Appalachian State University and is a North Carolina Teaching Fellows alumna. She plays viola with the Cafe String Quartet, Brevard Philharmonic, and Hendersonville Symphony. She is an active member of the National Association for Music Education, American String Teachers Association, and a 2018 recipient of the Foundation for the Advancement of String Education's George Bornoff Memorial Scholarship. She resides in Asheville with her husband, Nathaniel Habel. |
